Gomboc - World's Only Self-Righting Geometric Object
I present, the ultimate paperweight. According to Wikipedia the Gömböc is "a convex three-dimensional homogeneous body which, when resting on a flat surface, has just one stable and one unstable point of equilibrium" AKA the only known self-righting object with one stable and one unstable point of equilibrium. This solid stainless steel geometic object proven in 2006 by Hungarian scientists Gábor Domokos and Péter Várkonyi can be set down at any angle and it will return to its original stable point without using weights that other self-righting objects like inflatable punch clowns do. To achieve this precise balance of mathematical equilibrium, this object is machined to tolerances below 10 microns (1/10th the thickness of a human hair). It's so precise that even dust affects it. Check out the video below to see it action.
