ALIEN: Romulus VHS Release - Limited Edition
Sick of watching all of these way too slick-looking ultra high-resolution 4K movies? Well, just like vinyl records, VHS tapes are making a nostalgic analog comeback too. There's just something oddly satisfying about pushing a tape into a VCR, rewinding it, adjusting the tracking, and then slowly fast-forwarding through all the coming soon trailers, commercials, production logos, and warnings. VHS quality also makes 70s-80s horror movies way creepier, sort of like what black and white did for old monster movies. So dust off that old VCR you have stuffed away somewhere or head on down to your local antique shop or flea market to find one and pick up a copy of this cool new yet quite retro-inspired ALIEN: Romulus VHS Release in glorious 480p / 4:3 aspect ratio.
Yep, just like how this movie blatantly ripped off almost every single scene and line of dialog from every other ALIEN movie, which will either drive you crazy or not, it's now trying to copy being on a long dead format that the other ALIEN films enjoyed as well. Despite my grievances on of this flick, this is still a cool collectible and it's only available for a very limited time.
Seriously, did the Andy android really need to ripoff that iconic line from ALIENS!? He was telling bad dad jokes the entire movie and that would have been the perfect spot for an actual good one. So just like how this movie seemed like it was written by A.I., I asked my ChatGPT friend to come up with a better line. "Get away from herβ¦ you one ugly... Alien!" There, now it tries to ripoff the iconic lines from both ALIENS and Predator, but just lands with a much more humorous anticlimactic thud. Hmm, or he could have just said, "In space, no one can hear you scream!" And then he slugs the xenomorph right in the face. π©
