Life-Sized ALIEN Xenomorph Animatronic Statue
Honestly, I don't think I'm brave enough to have this cool new yet quite 1979-inspired ALIEN Xenomorph Animatronic Statue from Spirit Halloween lurking around in my home. H.R. Giger's ALIEN Xenomorph monster pretty much introduced me to nightmares as a kid after being taken to see this sci-fi horror flick at a drive-in theater when I was really little. Begging my parents to re-rent it for me from the local video store, over and over and over again, afterwards on glorious, crappy VHS probably didn't make things better, but I loved it. I loved being scared. Then it got even worse when ALIENS came out. Now, while the sensation of being frightened by a monster movie goes away as you grow up, I still don't want this damn thing in my house. Not even down in the basement. Nope.
Well, if the ALIEN Xenomorph didn't traumatically scare and mentally scar you for life as a kid, as it did to me, then this somewhat life-sized 6' 8" tall animatronic version of it is the perfect thing, er, organism for any ALIEN fan's living room, home theater, man cave, or... bedroom!? It features a highly detailed and realistic biomechanical sculpt, an elongated head with an inner jaw that snaps out just like in the movie, a torso that fluidly turns side-to-side as if it's looking around for its prey (or a Predator), built-in audio that plays sound effects from the movie, and creepy dorsal spines/tubes, claws, and a menacing tail. Acid-for-blood not included.
Besides a terrifying Halloween decoration, I guess you could leave it up all year long, like the 12-ft skeletons, and dress it up for holidays, seasons, and special occasions. Does a Santa hat go on the end of its elongated domed head, on top in the very center, or in the very front where there are no eyes? I guess it might be less frightening in person if it were wearing large board shorts in the summer or something. It's also great for some seriously unexpected prank surprises. Hmm, hopefully they go much, much bigger next year and release a matching 16-Ft Tall ALIEN Queen Statue to put on the front lawn... all year long.
