Flying Insect Pest Suction Trap - Gnats, Mosquitoes, Flies, and More!
I usually don't do reviews on here, but this cool new Indoor Insect Trap thing has saved my sanity from flying insect pests, specifically an invasion of utterly annoying gnats. I bought a new houseplant, an Arabica coffee bean plant because I thought it would be kind of fun to grow my own coffee beans, but apparently the soil was loaded with gnat eggs which hatched and then spread out to infest like every plant in the house until they multiplied into near infinity. I literally tried everything from insect plant treatments, covering soil with sand, sticking cinnamon sticks into the soil, sprinkling it with extra cinnamon powder, placing regular glue traps everywhere, and using extra harsh language, but nothing seemed to slow down these super determined miniscule flying abominations. Then I came across this unique contraption and gave it a shot.
While it may look like a sleek bladeless fan, it's actually an effective bug trap that lures nuisance insects into the ring using 365-395nm wavelength light, which they seem to really love. As they fly into the light, powerful suction pulls them down like a tractor beam into the inescapable conical base outfitted with a sticky glue board. I set it up in a central area at night and then checked the trap in the morning. The glue trap not only caught a ton of pesky gnats, it also snagged a couple of unexpected spring house flies and a bunch of ladybugs. After one night, the glue trap was filled with half-dead bugs futilely writhing around trying to escape the glue. It was super satisfying. So if you want a new weapon in your arsenal to combat gnats, mosquitoes, fruit flies, house flies, ladybugs, and other small flying insects, I say give this thing a chance, because it's working wonders for me.
