Just soak this aged fallen oak log that has been pre-inoculated with organic shiitake spores by fungi farmers in rural Georgia, store in a cool, dark spot until the mushrooms begin to sprout, harvest with a knife, and enjoy in your favorite recipes. It can continue to produce shiitake mushrooms multiple times after harvest by simply re-soaking and storing it again. Sure you could just go to the grocery store and pick up some shiitakes, but this is way more fun and interesting and quite the conversation starter.
