Video Store Scented Candle - Popcorn, Dust, Carpeting, and VHS Boxes
As you scroll endlessly, night after night, through all the movie selections on all the different streaming apps of the modern age, you might wax a bit nostalgic over the old video rental stores of yesteryear. Somehow, it actually felt quicker to drive all the way to your local video store, wander up and down the aisles looking at the artwork on every single VHS box or DVD case (later on) to find something that you wanted to see and then sadly discovered that it was already rented. That was only a temporary setback.
What you did next was pretend to keep looking around while you waited for your movie to get returned in the drop box. It always seemed to show up if you had some serious time and patience. After that, you waited in a huge line to check out, got publicly humiliated in front of snickering customers when asked to pay a huge late fee for returning Harry and the Hendersons 38 days late (true story), stopped at the Taco Bell, and then drove all the way back home, popped the tape into the VCR, spent minutes rewinding it because the last renter wasn't so kind, adjusted the tracking, fast-forwarded through a bunch of piracy warnings and coming soon trailers, hooked up the second VCR to make a copy of the movie, and then hit play to finally watch the flick.
*whew* Now those were the days! You had to go out there, fight back the crowds, and hunt for a movie to watch. You were invested in it, so no matter how bad it was, you finished it just out of principle... and it still took less time than scrolling through all these soulless streaming apps.
Anyways, now you can relive a very small part of that oddly satisfying old-fashioned video rental store experience in your very own home with the distinctive scent of a video store wafting through the air. This cool new yet quite retro-inspired Video Store Candle from DIO Candle Company smells just like an old video store with intoxicating notes of buttered popcorn, dust, carpeting, VHS boxes, and hints of stale candy. Each candle is handmade in Denver, CO from 100% all-natural soy wax, has a lead-free cotton wick, and uses premium fragrances and essential oils. It lasts for around 55-70 hours, which is also just about how long it takes to decide that there's nothing good to watch on any of the streaming apps.
So, after the candle burns out, turn off the TV, grab your keys, er, keyfob, and head out to the old movie theater instead (if it hasn't gone out of business) to go watch yet another terrible remake of a great old movie from like 35 years ago... which just so happens to be the same one that you wanted to watch originally, but it wasn't streaming or available to rent online anywhere.
*sigh* I really do miss the video store, so I guess I'll just burn this candle and enjoy the nostalgic warm memories. Best of all, no late fees. πΌπΏπ―οΈ
