When grinding your own mixed spices, herbs, tea leaves, nuts, and more, the traditional hammer and crush mortar and pestles work well, but this cool new Rolling Mortar and Pestle does it in a more minimalist and graceful way. Unlike the typical heavy, blunt-ended club-like pestles, this one is a solid oak wood wheel that is inspired by traditional Chinese tea grinders and the mortar is an oblong, high-sided porcelain bowl. Just place your ingredients in the mortar and roll the pestle wheel back and forth to effectively crush, grind, and release the flavors and aromas locked within. it's also much easier to clean.
