I have done zero research on this, but I would imagine that most plastic straws don't get recycled and usually end up in landfills all over the Earth. Just think of the sheer number of plastic straws that must get tossed out every single day from fast food restaurants alone. Well, these cool new Kikkerland Birch and Bamboo Paper Straws are a unique alternative to boring plastic straws. These stylish wax-coated paper straws are wrapped in realistic bamboo and birch wood patterns printed on with a food-safe, soy-based ink. Each straw from the box of 144 in either version is both biodegradable and compostable, so suck up that beverage and toss without worrying that we are building mountains out of used straws.
