What do ancient Egyptian burial practices have to do with Halloween? I have no idea, but just like any dead body, I guess mummies are kind of spooky too, especially if they somehow come back to life and slowly shuffle out of their tombs. It makes you wonder why no one has ever set a zombie outbreak movie in Egypt, so all the mummies could rise up and wander through the streets of modern-day Giza or Cairo looking for their brains that were pulled out through their noses during mummification. I mean, wouldn't a curse of dusty, moaning, linen-wrapped mummies looking all confused as they shuffle across the golf course that's right next to the Great Pyramid and Sphinx or into the KFC/Pizza Hut located on the other side be so much fun? Call me, Hollywood!

Anyways, this Halloween, er, I mean Spooky season 🫩, hand out candy to the little trick-or-treaters (or mummy zombies) from this cool new yet quite ancient-inspired Mummy Candy Bowl from West Elm. This soft, whimsical candy bowl looks like a giant mummy's head with its eyes peeking out from behind its wrappings. It's handmade by artisans in a Fair Trade Certified facility (I'm guessing not in Egypt) from hand-felted wool and is one-of-a-kind. It's also great for holding the entire bag of Halloween candy you will inevitably start snacking on early while watching old horror movies the rest of the month... and possibly maybe my mummy zombie movie in the future. πŸ§Ÿβ€β™‚οΈ
