Castello del Poggio Candy Corn Wine
The world is very divided over candy corn. Some love it, some hate it, and, for me, it's not so much the taste or scent of candy corn that's the problem, it's the mushy, candlewax-like texture of it... and the lack of booze. This problem may have been solved with this cool new Castello del Poggio Candy Corn Wine from Italy.
This limited-edition Italian white wine is masterfully blended with the classic natural flavors of candy corn, evoking tasteful notes of marshmallow, vanilla, and warm honey, complemented by the natural fruit character of Moscato sweet wine. In other words, it's drinkable candy corn with 12% alcohol by volume, best served chilled. Best of all, the Halloween-inspired label is adorned with candy corn pieces, black cats, and spooky bats and the yellow, orange, and white striped screw cap makes it perfect to serve up all Halloween, er, I mean Spooky season long, while watching old horror movies, at Halloween parties, or save it for Hallowmas, Halfway-to-Halloween, or Summerween.
Hmm, while I don't recommend eating candy corn, ever, dropping a handful into the bottle (like the infamous worm in a bottle of mezcal) might give it an even stronger infusion of candy corn flavor and look even more festive while floating about as you pour. If you want to go even further, they released a tri-colored cocktail recipe you can make from this wine called the Witching Hour. You could also smush a piece of candy corn on the edge of your glass as a garnish, but, again, eating it is optional. ππ½π·
