Pumpkin Spice Twinkies
Seeing a robin is one of the earliest signs that spring is near, and the same could be said of seeing your first pumpkin spice-flavored food as an early sign of fall. Behold, these cool new Pumpkin Spice Twinkies from Hostess. While they may look like your average, ordinary Twinkies snack cakes from afar, the secret is revealed when you bite into the golden vanilla sponge cake on the outside (pumpkin-orange-colored sponge cake would have been too much effort, I guess), and the creamy pumpkin spice-flavored crème filling (hell yeah it's artificially flavored, but I did see cinnamon listed separately in the ingredients) on the inside is revealed. Nope, they couldn't be bothered to make the filling pumpkin-orange-colored either.
Honestly, I think I'm more excited about the glorious box these limited-edition seasonal Twinkies come in. That autumnal artwork just makes me even more excited for colorful falling leaves, crisp, cool air, pumpkin farms, bonfires, apple picking, hoodies, pumpkin candles, comfort foods, pumpkin beers, PSLs, old horror movies, and the way the sunlight just falls differently on the land as the days get shorter and cozier. So have one of these Twinkies (maybe on a stick, roasting over a fire) and enjoy the quiet calm before the hustle-and-bustle nightmare of the holiday season begins. 🎃😋
