I work in a nice air-conditioned office, outside of HEADquarters, and in the hot summers it still gets hot & stuffy working at the computer all day. It's hard having a regular fan on the desk, because it blows my papers all over the place, so I decided to find something new to try. Check out the cool new Personal Desktop Air Conditioner. Inside the unit, it hold a water bottle that you fill with water, freeze and then reconnect. The internal fan then draws air across the ice and gently cools down the air around your desk. The good news is that it's really inexpensive, the bad is that I don't know how long the ice will hold up on a hot day. Literally cool idea though.

I don't think this would work too well. Cooling the air is only half the battle. A real air conditioner also removes humidity from the air. This would increase the humidity to the air. Maybe if you live somewhere really dry like Vegas, this might not be too bad, but in southern Texas it won't help. Cool find though!

I\'ve had one before and it worked very well as long as it\'s sitting close to you.
