In Greek Mythology, Daedalus was an inventor who fabricated feathered wings for him and his son Icarus. He warned Icarus not to fly to high, but Icarus didn't listen, flew too close to the sun, melted the wax holding the wings together and plummeted into the sea. Today, Daedalus ($149) is simply a cool polyester feather winged table lamp by designer Tord Boontje that won't melt. Of course, Daedalus was also the name of that fictitious space station in the movie Space Camp. -
