Cork isn't just for wine bottles and push pins anymore. These cool new Vitra Cork Stools from designer Jasper Morrison are made from the soft and lightweight, yet enormously tough bark of the Cork Oak Tree. This thick, environmentally friendly resource is regularly harvested every 9 years from mature trees in the Mediterranean basin of Spain and Portugal and the process is actually good for the overall health of the tree, which tend to live up to 200 years old. They come in three different styles and can be used as stools, side tables or huge bulletin boards.
