These cool new Magnetic Umbrella Solar Lights ($40) are durable, weatherproof lights that have two halves held together by powerful magnets. The top half has a crystalline solar panel that charges even in cloudy weather and the bottom half has 4 super bright LED lights that run for 5 hours on a full charge. They easily attach to patio umbrellas, awnings, canopies and other cloth surfaces with ease. If you really want to light up the night and enjoy those warm summer evenings out on your patio, this is a perfect solution.  -  5 Comments Tweet This on Twitter Share on FaceBook

can somebody clear this up for me please? so i get that it comes in 2 halves, the top is the solar charger and the bottom it the light, and that they connect magnetically. but how does the power travel from the top solar half to the bottom bulb half? does it just pass through since its magnetic?? someone please!! anybody help me and explain this thing to me!! please!! im dying here! OMG! i am dead.
no but seriously, how does it work?

It probably works the same way a cordless toothbrush works. Basically it is a transformer split into two halves that become complete when close enough magnetically. Google.

So the Transformers work like cordless toothbrushes in that they split in half right before they transform but they cannot fully transform back into a vehicle until the two halves connect magnetically. Perfect, that makes no sense.

Actually, it makes perfect sense. A transformer is a device that transfers electricity from one circuit to another. A Transformer--note the capitalized \"T\'--is a children\'s toy.
