Once you get past the feeling that your baby is being coddled by Thing from the Addams Family, the Zaky Hand Pillow ($42) is actually a pretty cool idea. A baby craves a parent's touch, so this ergonomic baby positioning pillow is designed to mimic the size, weight, and feel of a parent's hand and forearm. Although maybe to us it's a creepy disembodied muppet hand, but your newborn will feel completely comforted as the hypo-allergenic 100% anti-pilling extra soft micro fleece hand cradles them until they fall asleep. You can now walk away without waking them and still feel your baby is in good hands, literally. I wish I had a giant pillow hand to hold me at night too.  -  6 Comments Tweet This on Twitter Share on FaceBook

Really, if you are sooo busy that you need to use fake hands to nurture and love your baby, maybe you need to change something in your life....

I think this is for when you CAN'T hold the baby -- like in the crib or car seat.

My baby is in the NICU and they have these for preemies to help provide boundaries (preemies need to feel like they are still in the womb)...my baby adores his and hugs it while he sleeps. A nurse or I can\'t stand in his room 24/7 to provide boundaries for him. It is not weird or creepy when it is helping your sick baby feel safe and comfortable. People need to think before they make negative comments.

It is creepy, but I like it. The next step is a terminator for nanny. Electric warm the hands, and a tape recorder playing bedtime songs and tales.
