Can You Spot the Hidden Cell Towers?

Found By: Michael Kiely (2085)

Cell phone users want the latest and greatest phones and they also want the best service possible, so in order for cell phone providers to improve the quality of wireless transmissions they require newer and taller cell towers and antennas. But where do you put these monstrous towers when everybody needs them but don't want to see them? You hide them! Disguised as trees, flagpoles, church steeples & crosses, road signs, silos, rocks, cacti, and more, cell towers are seamlessly blending into communities and could be hiding in your backyard right now!

Creepy huh? Hopefully they are just being used as cell towers! Send us pictures or let us know in the comments area if you have seen one of these near you.

Great idea. Whoever thought of that should keep up the good work. Like it or not towers are useful and necessary to our way of life. They are here to stay, so might as well make them blend in.

Those are just a bunch of picutres of trees and buildings. Cell towers are not like that.

There are a few of the fake pine trees near here (picture of one beneath the church, second row left). I’ve got to say, I think the other hidden towers are clever, but the pine tree thing, it’s just moronic. The picture here doesn’t look quite as bad, but when you see one of these in real life, it looks amazingly out of place – not to mention it only has fake branches at the top of the “tree”. They even placed one in the middle of a field. I’m all for hiding them, but I’d prefer them hidden in a way that’s not too insulting to intelligence (such as the other pictures)

i think they should just build a massive tower. or maybe a couple smaller ones that would stretch to the heavens. 4 or five miles tall. that would solve all reception problems.

I’ve seen the pine tree one along I-89 in New Hampshire. In the middle of my hometown, two churches have cell towers in their steeples. At my old church, they paid for the renovation of the steeple, including RF-transparent materials, and also pay rent to the church. Hopefully they also install shielding so they don’t irradiate the sanctuary . . . Another company paid to rebuild the press box and light towers at my high school football stadium, adding cell towers.

Better than looking at an ugly tower. They’re here to stay. Get used to it.

We have one down the road that is in a fire tower. You’d never know unless you looked real close.

Yeah these things could be doing anything hidden all over our towns.

Yeah – like making your mobile phone work for example!
