This product worked surprisingly well! I was kind of hesitant in getting it because my dog is a very stubborn girl, but something had to be done about hers and my landlords dog barking! I will admit, if you are nearby when it goes off, it'll rattle your brain slightly, but the dogs can't stand it! In fact, if I had to rate it on a scale of 1-5 (5 being amazing) I'd give it a 4. I take off 1 because ever since I've had it in the front yard, my dog won't go up there anymore...it's hard to get her to come back up front to come in the house. At least it controls the barking! I usually keep it off if I am home.

Since this thing is supposed to be an outdoors device, and apparently also adjustable, I\'m guessing there\'s a way to get it working properly. Generally speaking, PetSafe makes a good product, so it probably would just need some adjustment if it doesn\'t work immediately. It\'s definitely worth the attempt, since one of the only other ways to get dogs to behave is to use something less pleasant for the dog, such as a <a href=\"http://www.discount-pet-superstore.com/bark_control_collars/bark_control_collars.htm\">PetSafe dog bark control collar</a>. Obviously it would be better to have a non-invasive or painful way to get dogs to quiet down.

This thing DOES NOT WORK! I bought one to use on my own dogs to keep them from going crazy when the doorbell rang. They all cocked their heads the first time it went off. It actually annoyed me more than them. You can actually feel it in your skull when it goes off, and yes a human voice sets it off. Totally worthless. Returned mine to Petsmart...
