No, it's not that sharp. I don't think you'd cut yourself, but you'll definitely feel it if you close your mouth over the fork like one usually does with a spoon. Don't plan on cutting really tough stuff - after all, since your fork is on your knife, you'll probaby end up using your hand to hold your food still to use the knife part. I got a 4-pack and I always get compliments on them.

Is the knife edge really sharp? I'm a bit nervous about it on the side of a fork?

I have these and they're awesome! I carry one in my bag and use it when I go to fast food places...one less spork in the landfill!
