I used to work in a gadget shop that sold these puzzle games. I never under stood the fuss about them but was always interested in how hard it could really be. One of the staff said they had completed it before and only won a small amount of money considering what he paid for it. Of course there will be websites where people tell others who to complete them which will spoil it all.

I got mine for a Christmas gift. It comes with 10 encrypted clues you have to decipher first. When you register your puzzle ball with the manufacturer, they send you an additional clue by email.Once you open the ball the game continues. More riddles and ciphers to solve to find the gold coins...I see them occassionally for sale on ebay but typically $100.

i bought this for a 13 hour plane trip and i tried for 3 hours to get it open. but it didnt work. so i let my son try (he's 8) and he solved it in 45 MINUTES. He is really good a puzzles.

I solved mine after decoding the clues... and futzing around a bit... took me about two hours to decode... and when i woke up the next morning i opened it in seconds.It's a rather interesting puzzle, quite enjoyable really! Although you had better like solving riddles if you want any prizes!fyi, don't go googling how to solve the puzzle... cuz you'll find it. also, if you want to know how to put yours back together, google it.and p.s. i'm 17 (just solved mine today) and i'm looking at a robotics major from Missouri S&T. already have 45 college credits. thought you might like to know. (and I hate puzzles)

WOW YOU GUYS ARE SUCH IDIOTS, i solved one in 3 days and its the US version so it didn't come with a code, im @#$%ing pissed, and i put it back together but i guess it was the "wrong way"(@#$%ing idiots who made it right? didn't put the directions of how to put it back together in the box) so now its broken and im sending it back to the UK so they can put a code in it and reset it hahahahahahahahahahaha stupidest thing ever. i've solved a 17 by 17 rubiks cube on a computer program made by rubiks or something. this puzzle is not that hard if you 'get' it.

This puzzle has only one solution so once you solve it, you can never be challenged by it again unlike Rubik's cube, right?
