They'll never make 9/11 toys like that. It was an attack on US soil where US people died. Americans only care if Americans die, and this was an especially intense example of that.The Titanic story is super romanticized and easy to find interesting as it was the maiden voyage, etc. Anything that happens in a different time period, -that would make a good period film-, automatically feels a bit removed from reality. That's why people aren't currently crying over it as it seems you'd like to see.

Because it was an interesting historical event.Plus, they made a movie out of it with Leonardo DiCaprio, so that's bound to draw crowds.
