I put up an upside down tree this year and everyone kept asking \"Why?\" until they saw it, now they all want one. It actually was very pretty and you can see ALL of the ornaments. I put it in the corner of the dining room and it was really nice (my dining room walls are red). I think I will put it in front of the living room window this year.

The 7-Foot Upside-Down Pre-Lit Christmas Tree
Click Here to Read Full Post and Comments
Ok smart-asses, if it represents God and the Trinity, then how come trees don't grow upside-down naturally? God created all things, and all things grow from the ground up. DUH. Why don't we all just walk around standing on our heads then? What good are feet anyway, when people like to talk out their asses instead of their heads, right? Then again, losers who just care about GIFTS forget to look at the REAL world around them, and as a result get sucked into fads just because it's "cool." Materialism seems to be reality these days. "Ooh, aah! Look, they have a TREE hanging upside down, and get all the attention! I want attention, too :****( . . . ."You want to know the truth about the meaning of Christmas? Screw the gifts and be thankful for all the NON-MATERIAL things you have in your life. This so-called monk just sounds like another philosopher who preached bullshit and got his answer from those who told him to shove it.

The 7-Foot Upside-Down Pre-Lit Christmas Tree
Click Here to Read Full Post and Comments
TO ME, THE \"UPSIDE-DOWN\" CHRISTMAS TREE MEANS \"CHRIST CAME TO SAVE\"; THUS FROM THE EARTH(BIRTH) TO HEAVEN BY WAY OF THE \"CROSS\".

The 7-Foot Upside-Down Pre-Lit Christmas Tree
Click Here to Read Full Post and Comments
Actually only when hung upside down is the Christmas tree symbolic of Christ. Germanic pagans believed that the Gods wrote their truths in nature. Christians pointed out that when the Fir was hung upside down it revealed the truth of the Trinity. The two highest points represented Jehovah and the Holy Spirit. The point of the tree represented the life of Christ, on earth, and the trunk of the tree represented his ascension to heaven after that life. So when you set it upright (as is traditional in the US) the metaphor is lost and your basically creating an alter to some arcane gift guarding tree god (hence the sharp star at the tip). Merry Squidmas everyone.

The 7-Foot Upside-Down Pre-Lit Christmas Tree
Click Here to Read Full Post and Comments
Dear AllIf you would like to know more about the \"Monk\" who started this whole Kerfufle, there is an interesting page on St. Boniface of Crediton at:http://www.saintpatrickdc.org/ss/0605.htm#There you will find out how the grateful Germans repaid his kind instruction on the right way to hang a Christmas Tree - by chopping him to mincemeat with their battle axes. Nice.Merry Christmas to you all (even Goat Boy, he obviously needs cheering up)Ig

The 7-Foot Upside-Down Pre-Lit Christmas Tree
Click Here to Read Full Post and Comments
At first I thought it was another way to screw up the CHRISTmas tradition. I didn't know it was the original way to start with. We had all better get CHRIST back in the United Stated of America, before we turn into the divided states of this world. Please pray for the leaders of this country. No-matter who they are, that they would pray to our GOD (The word GOD is not plural) for guidance.

The 7-Foot Upside-Down Pre-Lit Christmas Tree
Click Here to Read Full Post and Comments
I've hung my (artificial) tree for several years-- it's the only way I can fit a full-size tree in my apartment. And yes, I enjoy the reaction I get from guests!I hang my tree from a hook screwed into a ceiling joist. Get a big hook... trees are heavy!! I put a big star at the pointy end of the tree, and a big bow at the ceiling covers the hardware. Nativity set goes on a small table right next to the tree.Friends come over, ooh and aaah, then we all go to Midnight Mass. It's just a tree, y'all!!

The 7-Foot Upside-Down Pre-Lit Christmas Tree
Click Here to Read Full Post and Comments
Well, people will read anything they want to read into anything! The Christmas tree wasn\'t around in Bethlehem anyway! The shape of the tree, the shamrock....just symbols that carry special meaning for believers, but the meaning can be different for different beliefs and some people will believe anything negative about something they don\'t understand. This is a quanit Polish tradition and the Poles are a deeply religious people, so I doubt that they are being sacriligeous by hanging a tree upside down! You must admit, it does permit more floor space in a small apartment....and you wouldn\'t have to move as much furniture to have a larger tree!

The 7-Foot Upside-Down Pre-Lit Christmas Tree
Click Here to Read Full Post and Comments
It is a tradition that dates back to the Middle Ages in Central Europe. It emphasized the triangular shape of the tree, meant to represent the Holy Trinity.Seems funny that people see this as anti-religious. I thought the Christian God was supposed to be everywhere (Alpha to Omega?). I didn't know we had to point our trees right at...his planet? Heaven, which is 3 degrees to the right of Alpha Centauri? C'mon, people, loosen up.

The 7-Foot Upside-Down Pre-Lit Christmas Tree
Click Here to Read Full Post and Comments
Well, first of all I have to say that the whole concept of representing Jesus on the cross is awesome; however, the bible talks about the tree and hanging glistening ornaments as a bad thing. So, I don't know if I will even celebrate this year. Christmas has been soooooooo misunderstood and I really don't want to be a part of that misunderstanding. If I do decide to celebrate, it will be with an upside down tree, it has more meaning.

The 7-Foot Upside-Down Pre-Lit Christmas Tree
Click Here to Read Full Post and Comments
We, my son and I, recently saw one in a catalog and absolutely loved it! We just got a new living room set that doesn\'t leave space for our traditional tree, so we\'re gonna get one. It has nothing to do with more presents, it\'s just different and it will work for us! No disrespect intended and no other reason behind it. It also does not reflect or change our beliefs in any way. Merry Christmas!

The 7-Foot Upside-Down Pre-Lit Christmas Tree
Click Here to Read Full Post and Comments
I think its a dumb idea, who cares on how many more presents will fit under the tree…. its a time to be together.Safer around small children- I’m sorry but little kids will find a way to hurt themselves.Ornaments stand out and are much safer- yeah ok if some little kid stands under it and it happens to fall, could knock him out or have broken glass in his head.A conversation starter- Man, are you dumb?It takes up less space- traditionally its supposed to be in front of the window- keep it there.your cat will think twice- I highly doubt that.and the reason an angel sits on top of the tree is that, god was having a terrible, horrible day and an angel came to god and asked what do you want me to do with these chrismas trees? hmmmm

I’ve been looking for an upside down tree like this since I saw one in a Christmas shop several years ago.My hsband finally put one together for me this year. With a new kitten in the house and 3 grandchildren- it will be perfect. I put blue lights, snowflakes and icicles on it and it is gorgeous. I’m glad to hear it has a nice history too. It may be a new tradition in our family. Gail, Tallahassee, Fl.

Years ago, when one of our daughters was away from home for Christmas, we chose to hang our tree upside down from the ceiling to show that ‘everyone was NOT home for Christmas’.It turned our ‘empty spot’ into a fun memory. This year, another daughter will be away from home for the holiday and we are considering marking the occasion with another…. upside down Christmas tree.

My Iowa cousin and her husband (now living in Georgia) have hung their Christmas tree upside down for more than 20 years. They have hooks in the ceiling and decorate the tree with lights and ornaments leaving the entire floor space free for lots of gifts!

To each his own- I think it’s funny and it will go down in history as the “mullet” of Christmas trees, but in the mean time everyone should lighten-up and enjoy the holidays.

Maybe you just don’t put a star or angel on top. I don’t think anyone will notice its missing when the tree is completely inverted anyways. lol. So cool!

I think it’s rediculous…..... I know, to be different, I’ll hang my tree upside down and put a strobe light on it! What can I put on the top, which is now the bottom?...Maybe a boot, or just to be even dumber, maybe a jack-o-lantern. What holiday is this anyway? Merry CHRISTmas!

It’s is sad to think that this many people are enjoying a fad that does not make any sense. It is not the true sense of Christmas and you are making a mockery of the holiday. Children love to see their presents UNDER the tree..why take that away. And it is just plain UGLY.

The tree was originally hung from the ceiling to represent Jesus on the Cross. The long bottom length was his arms which would now be on top. Over time it just became easier to decorate a tree normally and the tradition was lost. Upside down is actually the proper way of doing this. It’s an interesting story to tell your family if you do decide to get one and it is increasingly getting more and more popular again. Plus I just like the look. :)

I think the upside down Christmas tree is Rediculous. But Not only is it rediculous… that i think its totally questioning the christian/ catholic religion. Just like that an upsidedown cross means questioning that christ was realy here. The christmas tree is a symbol of the birth of jesus. Placeing it upside down or hanging it is questioning jesus that he realy excist.

It looks pretty weird to me! I like the traditional tree A LOT better! Where does the star or the angel go? Sitting by the Christmas Tree with your loved ones will kind of be awkward, don’t ya think?

You mean people don’t normally put the tree on the floor and not hang it from the ceiling – how original. Psychiatric patient – Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern, NY
