This is really cool. I love looking at chalk art! There is a chalk art event in Eau Claire, WI every year called Chalkfest, where sidewalk artists create some really cool designs, you can look at the photos from the event on Volume One's website here:http://volumeone.org/photos/albums/14/221.html

I bet I would be the one being creeped out and jumping in a "PUDDLE" and it would really be chalk... I would then try to jump into a hole in my embarassment and it would also be chalk... I would then run home with a newspaper over my face.

I have read all the comments and many have said that a man by the name of Kurt Weener did a few of these drawings. I have studied both Julian and Kurts work, and atleast on the website, I haven\'t seen any duplicates. Yes, there are some strong similarities, and both artists do possess this talent that most others do not have, but as far as this website goes, none of these pictures are done by Kurt Wenner, who I agree, is also an amazingly talented person.

Just so you know - a couple of those drawings that you have credited to Julian Beever (who I agree is amazing) were actually done by an artist named Kurt Wenner....you might want to double check them!!

I would just like to say to all those who have made nasty comments that I'm sorry you have nothing better to do with your time than to try to make yourself feel better by making those comments and trying to belittle something you obviously know nothing about. It seems as though you have nothing better to do than to post comments on any website that will let you, because in reality, you have no social life, no human contact, and all hope for a future is lost in cyberspace. This man is truely an amazing artist and should be commended on his phenomenal work! It's mind-blowing and should be perserved. One suggestion, he should capture photographs of his work for sale. I would love to purchase them!

Julian's work is not bad � it is very clever. But I have to say Kurt Wenner's work is transcendently beautiful. it really goes beyond simple optical tricks. You can stare for hours at his work and find something new in the details. He has a lot of amazing work on his website http://www.kurtwenner.com. Turns out he is an architect and sculptor as well.
