The Remote Control F-16 Ducted Fan Jet. This electric hand-launched airplane is modeled after the U.S. Air Force's F-16 Fighting Falcon, and has an intake that channels air through the ducted fan located in its aft-fuselage, forcing air to exit the rear of the plane at a faster velocity, resulting in additional thrust and easier control for beginning remote control flight enthusiasts. The plane incorporates the same design element found in the real jet that makes it an efficient airframe, strakes that blend the leading edge of the wings with the fuselage, and includes upswept wingtips and negatively-cambered horizontal stabilators that provide smooth flights. The jets strong unibody EPP foam construction provides a forgiving frame during grass landings; the only assembly require
d is attaching the vertical tail and rudder. A precise two-channel digital proportional radio transmitter provides throttle and rudder control up to 300', allowing it to climb, descend, and yaw left and right; the rudders control linkage can be adjusted for more precise handling. A vented undermounted compartment fore of the jet intake holds an included rechargeable 9-volt Ni-MH battery that doubles as a nose weight, and provides five-minute flight times. Includes a field charger that fully-charges the battery in 25 minutes. Transmitter requires eight AA batteries; field charger requires eight C batteries. Ages 10 and up. The manufacturer has confirmed that this item meets all U.S. Federal toy safety standards, including safety standards for lead. 19" L x 18 1/2" W x 6" H. (6 oz.)
