Progression Wake Up Clock – Awaken Your Senses!

I'm not sure what's worse, waking up to a noisy heartstopping alarm clock or not waking up at all. An alternative to the loud bells and whistles alarm clock is the new Progression Wake Up Clock ($50) by Hammacher Schlemmer. To wake you up, it goes after your senses of Sight with gradual ambient light, Sound with lively nature sounds (Nightfall, Thunder Storm, Zen Melody, Mountain Stream, Songbirds, and Ocean Surf) and Smell with stimulating aromatherapy scents (Coffee, Energy, Stress Relief, Lavendar).

How it Works:
"Simply set the desired wake up time, place some aromatherapy beads (included) into the aroma bowl, and choose a natural sound setting. Thirty minutes before wake-up, the clock’s light begins to glow softly, subtly brightening over the next half hour. As the light increases, the warmth from the lamp releases faint aromatherapy scents into the air to stimulate the olfactory senses, speeding the waking process. Fifteen minutes before wake up time, the clock's speaker generates the sleeper’s choice of soft, yet lively nature sounds, and at the set wake up time, a buzzer sounds to finish the cycle."

I think this alarm clock just may be my answer to morning grumpiness. It has everything a regular alarm clock has, but with the bright light, pleasant smells and lively sound, it makes it a clear weapon of choice in my daily war with awakening. - Comments: 9( 9 Comments)

The only thing that wakes me up is getting punched.

I got one for Christmas and it’s the best clock I’ve ever had. The light does wake you up!

I'd love to try it because i've tried every alarm clock on the planet to no avail.

I sleep like the dead and most alarms won't wake me up (other than my cell phone for some strange reason?) and the one inexpensive alarm I have found that will wake me up but scares the crap out of me is the truck drivers alarm, the Screaming Meanie) for about $20 at most truck stops. Runs off a 9V battery and it is basically a countdown timer that is complicated to shut off (press 3 buttons at once) and I love it but my wife hates it. Its about 110db.

Great functions - but too difficult to deal with when you're not fully awake and need to simply hit the snooze a couple of times! Needs some refining!

I also have tried the Screamin' Meanie. I love it! My friend who is a truck driver bought it for me because I told him I had 3 alarm's set and I would sleep through them all. The first time it went off, it was so loud I woke up with my heart pounding. Yet I was awake. And believe it or not, I have slept through that thing too. Don't ask me how, but it doesn't happen that often. It sounds like a very loud fire alarm. But if it works, I don't care what it sounds like. I love it. The louder the better.
