Grow Your Own Popcorn Corn Plants
Want to make and enjoy the freshest popcorn at home possible, plus add a cool and unique crop to your backyard garden or even a patio container? Then simply grow your very own popcorn corn plants. Sure you could just run down to the local grocery store and buy a bag of stale popcorn seeds or some horrendous microwave popcorn, but I think it would be kind of cool to go all the way and grow some popcorn-friendly corn stalks.
Sure you could just run down to the local grocery store and buy a bag of stale popcorn seeds or some horrendous microwave popcorn, but I think it would be kind of cool to go all the way and grow some popcorn-friendly corn stalks. This six-pack of living corn plant seedlings come in 4" pots that produce two varieties, white kernals and dark red kernals, which actually grow on strawberry-shaped ears. In the late Summer or early Fall, your ears of corn will be ready for harvest and then you just shuck, dry, pop the kernels, and toss the empty corncob into the neighbor's yard.
It may involve way more effort, but when your bowl is finally filled with fresh and fluffy popcorn that you grew by hand, you're sure to enjoy it that much more on movie night.
