Dingoo A320: Pocket Retro Game Emulator - Play NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Neo Geo and More!

The very cool new Dingoo A320 - Pocket Retro Game Emulator just may be the ultimate portable handheld gaming device. Not only does it emulate all the old school classic video games on Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Gameboy Advance, Neo Geo and CAPCOM arcade game systems, it's also a full blown media player! It plays multiple video and audio formats and even has a built-in FM radio, an e-book reader with text to speech capabilities and a voice recorder!

To get started, all you need to do is download some of your favorite 8-bit or 16-bit video game ROMs (um, just do a search), store them on the Dingoo A320's 4GB of internal storage or on an external miniSD memory card and start playing away. It features a gorgeous 2.8 inch QVGA LCD screen, built-in stereo speakers and it can even output everything to your television via included composite video cables. The internal battery provides up to 6-8 hours of runtime on a single charge!

The price, the sheer amount of available games to play and all the cool extra media features on this device, simply blows away all the current handheld gaming devices on the market today. I'm not exactly sure how legal it is to be downloading ROMs off the net, that's a moral decision you'll have to make, but once you get around that dilemma, this really is a must have fun gadget for all hardcore gamers, the nostalgic and people bored at work.

Hmmn. If my PSP couldn't already run emulators, this would be worlds of awesome. Heck, it *is* awesome. It's also... well... kind of illegal. Gotta' be Chinese. They always make all the cool toys.

Emulation isn\'t illegal, but it would be illegal if you stuck copyrighted rom files on it and sold it, and it is illegal to have copyrighted Roms if you don\'t actually own the game. But I care very little about that since eternal copyright is a dumb idea anyhow. Lucky me I have piles of old carts ferreted away somewhere in my parents garage, so I can use mine (when it gets here) with impunity.

Thinkgeek does overcharge for this. The first real site that was selling this to the USA was dealextreme, they sell it for 82$ with free shipping, however since they are hong kong based it does take a while to arrive. I will tell you though, definitely worth the money, the built in emus work pretty well except for a few nagging issues

\"it is illegal to have copyrighted Roms if you don\\\'t actually own the game.\"

Negatory. At least not in the U.S. They\'re technically against the law even if you own the original. There are a few loopholes that exist if you dump the image yourself, but a downloaded image is going to almost always be illegal.

Enforcement and prosecution is another story... a lot of these companies don\'t exist any more, or the ones that own the rights don\'t care to waste their time.

Which is good- if they don\'t care, I don\'t care either. Yay MAME!
