Drinking water from plastic bottles has become uncool overnight. Besides the impact on the environment to mass-produce and ship these bottles, they don't always get recycled and usually end up in the landfills and oceans. Plus, you know that plastic taste? That's actually plastic and other possible contaminants leaching into your water. Why are you paying premium prices for water that many times is basically from the tap, hurts the planet and is probably bad for you? The cool new solution is to use reusable, non-toxic, non-leaching water bottles like the Sigg Aluminum Water Bottles and now the even cooler Klean Kanteen Stainless Steel Water Bottles.
The Klean Kanteen water bottles are the stainless steel alternative to plastic. Since they are made from durable and lightweight high-quality food grade 304 L.N. stainless steel, they are safe, 100% recyclable, non-toxic, non-leaching and BPA free (read this - yikes!). They come in various sizes from 12oz to 40oz and feature a wide mouth for ice cubes and various optional caps depending on intended use. They even make a sippy cup cap for babies and children. The only problem with stainless steel of course, is that it isn't insulated and can get super hot, so don't fill with boiling water or hot coffee (optional insulated sleeves are available).
So, I really like these bottles. I already have two of the SIGG bottles and love them, but these seem even easier to maintain and don't have or need that inner lining. They look stylish, I save A LOT of money, I can filter my own water or just use the tap, they let water taste clean and prevent harmful contaminants from leaching in, it's a responsible choice and I can even easily clean them in the dishwasher. It seems like a no-brainer to me. Very cool and highly recommended.
