Out of all the monster-themed breakfast cereals I remember enjoying as a kid, I never got to try
Boo Berry Cereal. I remember my mother wouldn't buy it because it was blue or because the ghost looked stoned and then it more or less vanished off store shelves entirely. It then became sort of an infamous cult cereal because of its rareness and there were always sightings of it by friends, but they could never prove it. Today it's back
for sale ($25) again to a new generation of sugar addicted kids. Apparently blue food is now ok to eat again -- um, blueberries people! -- and it's also available as a strangely cool and certainly spooky
Boo Berry Cereal Flavored Lip Balm ($5) as well. Now that I finally have the chance to taste Boo Berry Cereal for the first time after all these years, either in my bowl or while protecting my lips, I think I'll pass, because maybe Mom was right.
They also make
other cereal flavored lip balms ($5) too like Count Chocula, Trix, Franken Berry, Lucky Charms and Cocoa Puffs! Unfortunately, they missed the other two remaining monster-themed cereal flavors like Fruit Brute and Yummy Mummy! -
