This is a very quiet humidifier, but I have one problem with it. When the water level goes below the \"minimum\" it leaks water all over the floor. I know, it makes no sense, but when it is full it runs great. As soon as the water level goes too low, I have a puddle on the floor.

This is not a whole house humidifier. System uses 3-4 gallons a day. A whole house humidifier will go through 12-15 gallons a day. Room size humidifier.

We used ours a couple of times earlier in the year... started to use it again, and the fan motor does not work!! Cannot find anyone online that even sells parts. Conveniently, EOM site is \"Under Construction.\"

We have used the BIP humidifier for 6 weeks and believe that the water pump is not working - the fan and heater are working but the water level remains the same ---what do we need to do or repair

Went through 4 returns on these at wal-mart (the black model of BIP) and had problems with all. One of them, the cord and plug got so hot it melted the 1 to 3 3-prong adapter that it was plugged into in the wall. The cord got very hot. One, the pump quit working, another a blade fell out and was broken when I opened it (the blade for deflecting the air in the front). These are a great idea and worked nice when they worked but I think they're made cheaply and maybe not too safe - almost impossible to get replacement parts.

I also have a EH 01-342 the pump is out on and I can't find anybody who carries the part. Used it a few months last winter and it's shot. I need info on how to get ahold of them any suggestions. Walmart won't take it back and says they don't even remember carrying it. Yet I have the reciept in my hand! It is past there 90 day return, they said.

Our heating element burned out and Wal-Mart told me the same 90 day thing. They never answer the at the CS number on the unit. Is there no way to get in touch with these guy's?

Please let me know if you have!

I purchased one of these and have had no problems yet but I assume I will in the future based on all the bad reports. I will give you what I have so far.

I went to the website which gave me a number.
I also got a filter replacement but it is not honeycomb it is a replacable wick type.

http://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/search/partinfo.php?partsID=277198&;modelsID=124735&typeName=humidifier

I also spoke to a person on the phone who said you could wash the filter with soap and water. she said you can soak it for 5 to 10 minutes. I have not tried this but the reason I was replacing it was because of the odor it gave off when we started using it for the next season.
I actuall like the product I just wish the stores that sold them would backk them up and carry the proper replacement products.

Thats Walmart for you...unload the container from china and then walk away...

Good Luck all.....

I have owned the Comfort Mist for 5 months and am also having problems with the motor. It just quit working. Called the CS number and the lady said the company is no longer in business. She suggested I retuned the product to Walmart. Problem is Walmart clearenced them out. No one carries this produst anymore. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement part?

I just spent about five minutes and removed the 8 screws in the back of the unit. Once I did that, at the bottom of the back piece holding the honeycomb filter, there are two screws that hold a small black piece with a 5\\\" hose. Remove those screws, remove the black piece and the filter will slide right out. I am soaking it in Lime Away to remove the mineral build up on the filter. Not a big deal once or even twice a year.

I was thinking to buy one of these humidifiers. However, I think I just changed my mind, seeing how easy it gets broke. Can you recommend another type of humidifier?
