National Lampoons Christmas Vacation Advent House Calendar

The National Lampoons Christmas Vacation Advent House Calendar is a beautiful handmade replica virtually identical to the Advent house seen in the holiday comedy classic National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. These amazing decorative houses are made on a first comissioned, first built basis, and feature 1/4" wood, windows designed from basswood, real brick and mortar exterior siding, electric wiring to illuminate the entire house from door to tower and 24 dated windows that can be opened to reveal an image for each day of Advent. After you commission a house to be built, the makers provide you with a link with building status photos and details. This house is sure to become the centerpiece of your Christmas decorations and a timeless piece that you and your family will enjoy for generations to come.

This rare holiday collectible will go perfectly this season with your collection of other Clark W. Griswold memorabilia like the infamously cool Moose Mugs and the Griswold Blackhawks Jersey. You can also light up your home in true Griswold fashion with the Mr. Christmas - Synchronized Lights and Sounds of Christmas.

Happy Holidays! :)

The real brick sounds great. I would go with that.

Thanks.

Let me add that I'm willing to pick it up, rather than have it shipped. Great Christmas shows in the Myrtle Beach area. Thanks.

Obviously many of us are interested in purchasing or at least owning and enjoying one of these advent houses. Another suggestion would be for you to sell the plans that you've developed for the house, including an index for finding the appropriate necessary supplies to complete. That would save on time and shipping charges and perhaps meet a larger audience. My husband is a carpenter, and I know I could have him build one for us. Perhaps the plans for sale???

Raymond,

I really want one for my wife. Just curious on the size and weight especially since you use real brick. And let us know once you decide on the price. I am in New Jersey so shipping may be costly but getting the house this Christmas would be so great. And the number of windows makes no difference to me. One question does the tower come off if we need to replace the bulb? Thanks so much hope you sell these. Let us know how to send you payment and our shipping info.

Hey, guys! I'm so glad everyone seems to be excited about this. Here are a few answers to some questions I caught. We weighed our model, which came out to about 18 1/2 lbs. That includes the brick on three of the four sides. We thought it was more. The size is about 31" long x 31" tall x 13" deep. It's quite big, but makes such a statement.

From the response we're getting, it seems like brick is the way to go. So now we're working up the pricing.

We keep everyone posted.

I'll be setting something up soon for everyone to contact me directly through a website. We'll set up a list of people who are looking for a house. Of course, the price is going to be the factor. I can say with almost certainty that we can not match the $49 price because of the brick involved. We'll do the brick on 3 of the 4 sides to save on on costs and weight.

Opps! I meant $449 price. I'm also take a few mor pictures of our version so everyone can see the details we put into it.

Raymond I assume by your comments that you expect your Advent House to sell for at least $500 or more is that correct? Do you plan on offering a smaller and or cheaper model?

Also not to ruin everyone's day has anyone looked into whether there are any copyright issues involved in selling these? There's one thing building one for yourself but selling them especially for hundreds of dollars may cause problems with whatever company owns the copyright to the Natl Lampoon's movies.
