I don't know if I can even describe how cool a Laserpod ($100) actually is, because it's a visual experience that has to be seen to be believed. The Laserpod is a highly advanced lighting product that uses three electronic lasers and three blue and purple LEDs projected through a crytal to make your wall or ceiling magically come to life at night. Imagine travelling through time and space while looking through water, it's sort of like that. The laserpod not only can be used as an awe-inspiring trippy ceiling screensaver, it also comes with a set of diffuser domes that can be placed over the light to transform it into the coolest 21st century lava lamp you have ever seen.

When I ran my Laserpod the first night, I had one of the diffuser domes in place and was sitting on the floor in my darkened living room setting it up. I turned it on and the dome lit up and came to life with swirling colors and laser patterns, it would make a really cool night light. Then I took off the dome to try the other diffuser and suddenly my cat Nyla flew into the room like a ninja, frantically pacing in circles, yowling crazily at the ceiling. I looked up and saw what she was seeing and although I didn't freak out, I was absolutely stunned at the lightshow phenomena playing out across my ceiling. The Laserpod is one of those rare products that blows away all your initial expectations and gives you an incredible sensory experience that you've never had before. Even better, you can now also add additional Laserpod units called Orb Satellites and Base Stations to your room to add to the effect.
