Slide And Negative To Digital Picture Converter

How many of you have boxes and boxes of old slides and negatives sitting on a shelf in a closet somewhere gathering dust? It's not a lot of fun to pull out that old slide projector either and it probably doesn't even work! It's time to back up and preserve those past memories of family, friends and vacations before they are lost forever.

The cool new Slide And Negative To Digital Picture Converter converts your old 35mm slides and film negatives into digital images easily without having to rely on a pricey conversion service. Simply plug the USB device into your PC, place your slides or negatives onto the tray, touch the button and sit back as they are scanned and converted into professional-quality digital copies without any loss of resolution right onto your hard drive. Good news for your old photos, bad news for everyone who now has to sit through yet another slide show of the "good old days".

Update: This is an all-new version that is now Windows Vista compatible and requires USB 2.0. Also, if you have a lot of slides and negatives to scan there is now a package of Six Additional Trays available.

Has anyone purchased this item yet and can say how well it works and if it's worth the money? I have plenty of old negatives that I would love to transfer to disk and even various slides. If this item does in fact work as advertised, it will save me lots of space and bring back lots of good old memories.

A guest on Sept 15th said this does not work with Vista. On Oct 10, 2007 someone said it does work with Vista. Has something changed betwen Sept 15th andOctober 10th?

Hey everyone. I'll be finally getting one of these next week and I'll try yo put together a demo video to show you all how it works and I'll also try to answer any questions you might have, here in the comments.

So fire away with the questions here in the comments or contact me and I'll compile them and try to get them all answered.

Michael 10/13/07, thanks, I will be awaiting your response once you try it. Akthough I know that it is returnable, I would like someone's imput before I take the plunge, why go thru the hassel of buying it and have to return it. I could really use this item if it trully does work. I have Windows XP, so it should not be a problem if it's a good product. Thanks Michael!

I would like to know if this will work with rolls of 35 mm microfilm. I can't tell from the picture if the slide/negative tray would allow film longer than the tray to be placed in the tray without causing some serious creases/bends in the film. Can't wait to hear your review Michael!

I know it works with Vista because I am using it with "Vista". Slides and negatives no problem.

Are the directions fairly easy to follow. Am not too computer savvy but with the right direction I am willing to give it a try. Have many old slides and film and want to preserve them.

C, How do you rate the scan quality of this unit. Is it worth the $100.00.

This thing is a 1.3 megapixel (approximately) digital camera with a closeup lens. It will produce digital images suitable for printing at 3x5 inches at best. It is a good idea but the advertising about image quality is a vast LIE. But, hey, it\'s a presidential election year, isn\'t it? So nothing said in public counts. Right?

Rolf, I have not really gotten into the editing part of it yet. But remember the obvious, it will only produce good pictures if the actual negative or slide was of good quality. Yes, I think it is worth the money. The instructions are not detailed, my only complaint so far.

I ordered one in late September and it's on back order until November 11th.
