I wonder how much flavor actually gets through? Sounds like a cool idea.

Didn't these use to be around back in the 50s?

I just bought these last week for my kids. They are pretty tasty. A lot of milk does come through the straw. And yes I think that they have been around before, my dad said that he had these when he was a kid.

Hello, I am researching straws and would like to know more about Sipahh Straws. Why were Sipahh Straws made? How are they made, and how does the flavor come off? How many Sipahh Straws are made each day?

Thank you for reading this. Could you please write us back soon?

They taste pretty nasty...they use sugar and sucralos to sweeten them and they have a pretty horrible aftertaste. Some flavors are better than others.

To Logan, sipahh straws were invented in Australia and are now made in the USA as well. They haev just been launched in Walgreens. About 2 million are made every day. The full story in on the website, unistraw.com. You will also find cool info on Sipahh.com. Unistraw have won a lot of awards for this product internationally and all of the flavors taste great.

Sipaahs are pretty good. They're basically a plastic straw, with an inverted cone shape inside each end to regulate the flow of milk over the flavour beads. The chocolate one is the best tasting, the others have that artificial sugar bitterness.

these are neat... the kids liked them but said they are very potent at first so they let them sit in it for a few minutes before actually drinking out of them

Loved the straws as a kid, only had chocolate and strawberry, does ANYONE remember what the name of the original straws was. Have been trying to find out for ages.

The originals were called Flavor Straws. The chocolate were not bad but I remember the strawberry as tasting terrible - but they were lots of fun though.
Fizzies were around about the same time.

Yes, the originals were called Flavor Straws and correct that they only came in Chocolate and Strawberry flavors. I loved them. Also true that Fizzies were around at that time too, in the 50's. I think Root Beer was the best flavor in those (well my favorite anyway). Also Birely's Orange soda. The very best!

I love these things....got them the first time in a goodie bag swap from a friend in Oz....and they are pricey in other countries....have had friends in Australia, Italy and a few other countries get them for me...

They had choc and strawberry at Walgreens, but unfortunately they have stopped selling them (I caught a Walgreens in the city with their last 3 boxes for 50cents a piece!....and they're $4-6 USD in other countries!). They don't even carry them on their site any more :^(

I do hope someone else in the states picks them up, because my daughter (and her myriad of friends) have gotten rather hooked on these...I'd hate to have to spend so much to get them from out of state...

Walgreens used to have the for $2....but hidden on a bottom shelf that you never notice unless you were looking (and I've checked at Walgreens in SD, MO, MN, PA, and CT....they are never somewhere where ppl would discover them unless they already knew to look....no wonder they have stopped selling them).

Either way...I'll just keep trying to find them....please, by all means, someone email me if you find them in the states somewhere :^)

ALL:

I know a great deal about this product. If you have any questions, you can see this site: http://unistraw.com/

To answer some of the comments, this product is a better way to distribute the flavor throughout the entire glass of milk. There are currently a great variety of flavors and more will be coming out. They are distributed in different countries through different retailers. In the U.S, there are a great number of places to find them. I would check with your local supermarket among others.

There are also some new products that are in the works that are really good as well. So, enjoy!

Just come back from vacationing in Asia and my kids really love these straws so I'm online now trying to see if they sell them in the US. The only thing is the straw has enough for a huge glass of milk so if your kid can't finish all at once, the beads inside gets wet and start to clump together. And if you let it sit too long wet like that, I don't think the flavor comes up as well as before. But otherwise, they really really love it. Chocolate Mint is awesome.
