Litter Robot - Automatic Self-Cleaning Litter Box

Wow, cats are hitting the jackpot lately with seriously cool luxury litter boxes. First we had the amazing Cat Genie - Automatic Flushing Litter Box and now there's the just as cool Litter Robot - Automatic Self-Cleaning Litter Box. The Litter Robot looks like something straight out of Star Wars or maybe a kitty teleportation pod, but it's actually an ingenious self-cleaning, scoop-free litter box.

Here's how it works. After your cat enters the globe, does its business and leaves, the Litter Robot's sensors detect this and it slowly begins to rotate the globe, sifting and separating clumped waste from the litter before finally dropping the waste into a garbage bag lined drawer that you empty about once a week. It works with any clumping litter, is completely safe & reliable and unlike most automatic litter boxes, won't jam or clog up. I wish my toilet rotated or did something cool - lucky spoiled cats! Check out the two videos below to see it in action.

You must sell CatGenie or Breeze System. No way have you owned the Litter Robot. It's not appropriate for cats over 20 pounds, I'll give you that. On the contrary, cats like the privacy the Litter Robot gives them. The only time I notice odor is right after the cat leaves. It's built like an appliance. I pay over $300 for a dishwasher to avoid doing dishes in the sink, why not spend $300 to avoid scooping?

To Anonymous, February 16, 2007 1:25 am, it's not very noisy. It's a little louder than your refrigerator. Once you are used to it, you just tune it out.

Hey Ya\'ll,

What is the best litter and litter box for a cat that pees on the back of the litter box? I have gone through 2 of the littermaid automatic systems and no matter how much I cleaned the back portion the motor would wear out from the litter clumping on the \"teeth\" where she would urinate. I am using a plain covered box that is not automatic and mixing tidy cat with crystals and also buying extra crystal cat litter to put towards the back of the box. This is not working well either. Please offer some suggestions. Thanks

I have bought two Robots. One four years ago, and the new one just a month ago. We have three cats, so it wound up costing me $6.25 a month to have the litter box cleaned every time a cat used it.

It is a truly fantastic appliance. Well designed, sturdily engineered, and high quality. My Norwegian Forest Cat mix is 15 pounds, and used to perch on the edge of the litterbox. A hard sell... yet he's using it now!

I have done an intensive review of the new Litter Robot II on my site:

and I can happily say it's even better than the first version.
