Mas Mejor Mojito Set

I know it's a cold December here in Chicago at Green Head HQ, but for New year's Eve, the rest of the year and especially during the hot and balmy summer months, there's absolutely nothing more refreshing or delicious than a Mojito cocktail. Cuban in origin, but mixable here, this drink is all the rage. The Mojito is an easy mix of sugar, mint leaves, lime juice, rum, ice, and soda water and is served in a tall thin glass and garnished with a sprig of mint on top. If you make one you can prepare and serve it authentically with the cool Mas Mejor Mojito Set from After 5 Catalog. This cool Mojito set comes with everything you need to get in the spirit of old Hava Cuba minus the ingredients of course.

Official Description:
"What would Hemingway say? Back in the day, Havana served its Mojitos with yerba buena (a sharper variety of mint) and guarapo (fresh sugar cane juice), garnished with a tall sliver of sugar cane as a stir stick. There was no mix. No teaspoon of sugar. No recipe books. Well, this Mas Mejor Mojito set keeps it real. (And we think Papa would approve.) The 16 oz. traditional tall glasses are hand-finished with black and green glass overlay. The wooden muddler offers the perfect grip and blunt nose. And the pro-grade citrus knife allows you to properly cut and garnish the limes - and even carve a sliver of sugar cane. Set of 4 glasses, each 8.25" tall, 2.25" in diameter."

Best Mojito Recipe
  • 1 Tall thin glass
  • 2 Fresh Mint sprigs
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • Juice of half a lime
  • Soda water
  • 1 1/2 oz Light Rum
For an authentic Cuban Mojito we recommend Havana Club rum, but as you know that may be hard to come by because of the embargo on Cuban goods, so go with Bacardi.

Instructions (Serves 1):
Dissolve the sugar in the lime juice in a tall glass. Gently crush the mint in the glass with a muddler or fork. Add the rum, 2-3 ice cubes, then fill with soda water, stir and serve garnished with a mint sprig.
