I clearly am not getting enough exercise sitting here at Headquarters finding cool stuff or maybe I am. All physical activity and movement burns calories and now I can finally find out how many using this cool Accelorometer ($50). An accelorometer is not unlike a pedometer that you clip on your belt that measures calories burned from steps taken, it actually measures calories burned using a precision motion sensor, similar to the technology that NASA uses to monitor the movements of astronauts in space, to calculate total physical activity. So I just may be burning more than I thought I was while typing, playing video games, playing with the cat, cooking, reaching for another beer, etc. Pretty cool little gadget, especially if you feel the need to lose a few pounds for the new year.
