Regular old candles are really on their way out. These new flameless candles look and feel just like the real thing, without all the smoke, dripping wax, risk of fire and endless replacement. The one thing these candles didn't have until now, was the ability to be "extinguished" realistically. Well that problem has been solved with the new Flameless LED Blow On-Off Candles ($15) that can be blown on to turn them off and also blown again to turn them back on. Just a simple puff of air controls the on/off feature. Now you'll never need to fuss with matches or lighters again and because they are so safe, your pets will never again have to run off with flaming tails!

I'm curious, and thinking about buying some of these. I love candlelight, but I always worry about fire hazards. I've seen the concept demonstrated on things like QVC, but I've always held off because I wasn't sure about the brightness level. Compared to regular candles, are these flameless ones just as bright? What I mean is, will they give off the same amount of light as a real candle? Please, anyone who's used flameless candles, share your opinions/experiences so I can decide whether or not to buy!

These candles look just like real candles and are just as bright as any real pillar candles, maybe a bit brighter actually.

I would say candles are brighter, but not by much. There are just so many more positives associated with battery powered flameless candles. You don't have to worry about a fire starting because of them. They are safe around children and pets. They last forever. The 2 "C" batteries last around 350 hrs. They glow and flicker just like a real candle and they are made from real wax. I shopped around and those were the characteristics I found to be the best. I searched around for flameless candles and found a great selection of them at www.justhomedecor.com. They also had great customer service.

This type of candle is great if you\'ve got kids or pets to contend with. I\'ve got both so these battery candles are something I don\'t need to worry about. Here\'s a good web site with lots of different styles and prices.
