The fine people at Jones Soda are back to ring in the holidays with two all new Jones Soda 2005 Holiday Packs of their now famous seasonal dinner/meal sodas - "Just Like Mom Used to Make". This year they have released two different packs that are now floating around Target stores and other preferred stores. If last year was any indication, these will sell out extremely fast, but don't fret, they always show up on eBay. Now, let's go through this year's new "delicious" flavors of soda, it's not just Turkey & Gravy anymore.
National Pack Flavors:
Brussels Sprout with Prosciutto
Cranberry Sauce
Turkey & Gravy
Wild Herb Stuffing
Pumpkin Pie
Regional Pack Flavors:
Broccoli Casserole
Smoked Salmon Pate
Turkey & Gravy
Corn on the Cob
Pecan Pie
I have never tried any of these sodas, but I have to admit that I'm dying to try the turkey and gravy, corn on the cob, pumpkin pie and stuffing, but I think I'll pass on the salmon flavor, yuck. It's too bad last year's flavors like Green Bean Casserole and Mashed Potatoes with butter didn't make it back in, because I really wanted to try them too. If you are lucky enough to get your hands on any of these wonderful holiday flavors, please post your reviews down in the Comments Section, if you dare. If I can secure a case, I'll post a review too, but I'll admit it, I'm a little nervous. I hope Jones Soda continues to do this year after year, it's a great new holiday tradition that I actually look forward too, even though it could make me sick. ha ha ha, er, Ho Ho Ho.
Oh God – Brussel Sprouts? Salmon? Stuffing? Ewwww.
Gravy sounds good though for some reason.

I tried the 2004 collection, it was disgusting. If you buy them to play a game of dare, then it would be fun, but I wouldn’t drink this for any other reason.
Fruitcake was good last year btw.

My wife and I split a five pack and here is our review:
The soda flavors are amazingly similar to the actual dishes. The Turkey & Gravy Soda tastes fresh out of oven. The Wild Herb Stuffing Soda is crisp and mild. The Brussels Sprout Soda is surprising sweet. The Cranberry Soda is the most like a traditional soda, but the adventurous should definitely try splashing a bit into the Turkey & Gravy. The Pumpkin Pie Soda is spicy and I thought I could even taste the crust. Also, all the bottle caps have fortunes.

I totally dis agree with the last comment – the one overpowering thing that is present in every flavor is the abundance of artificial sweetner. Nothing like killing a good idea with nutra sweet. Hint to Jones – us folks willing to drink Turkey and Gravy arent counting calories.
BTW the pumpkin pie was ok – the stuffing one had no discernable flavor whatsoever.

curiosity is killing me

Some friends of mine got this stuff and about 6 of us each tried taste-testing it… with horrible results. One guy actually had to run to the bathroom to throw up after Brussels Sprout and a couple of us heaved nearly to the puke-point. Most of the others were ‘drinkable’, but Pumkin Pie was nearly as bad as the Brussels. It was a horrible but funny experience.

These is the worst flavors on earth. The smells do not do justice to the horrible aftertaste. Mix them with some liquor for a yak fest.

The Salmon was the worst feeling I have ever encountered in my existance. I wanted to yak on my co-worker after taking it – Definately a good joke for the wife or girlfriend

The hideousness taste of these sodas will HAUNT ME for the rest of my days.

i tried all of the flavors and i LOVE THEM. It is nice to be able to drink a Turkey and Gravy beverage, considering that i have been a vegetarian for the past 10 years. it was so deliciously wild and left me yearning for more. it was an amazing expirience. the pumpkin pie finished my need for something sweet after the bitterness of the brussel sprouts. the collection is definitly a keeper.

i bought the holiday pack (national) a couple of years ago as a Christmas gag gift. everyone was dieing to try it so we all each had a shot of all the flavors. it was totally disgusting. i thought we'd saved the one most likely to be good for last (pumpkin pie) and it was the worst of all! the cranberry sauce was very good, though. overall a fun party pack.
Gravy sounds good though for some reason.
