Nathan Sawaya is a professional LEGO artist and former LEGO Master Model Builder and he spent 3 months constructing a 10,000 piece, life size (6-foot-tall) replica of Han Solo Frozen in Carbonite almost entirely out of dark gray LEGOs.

Forget those silly jigsaw puzzles. When you need to waste some time, go and get out all your old LEGOs and build some new worlds.

Actually when you consider the discipline and tenacity it took to assemble this model this guy has more going for him than 3/4 of the mentally retarded asshats who posted here calling him a loser and wanting to know about his sex life. At least he has accomplished something he wanted to do, how many of you pea brained infantile morons can say that? And playing the PS2/Gameboy/X Box 1000+ hours a year does not count, although considering how much time people like you waste playing stupid games you really have the nerve to talk about this guy needing a “life”

Whether you think he’s an eejit or not, there’s no denying he’s spent a lot of time and skilled effort on that baby. Which makes me wonder why he’s used dark gray\grey bricks? If memory serves, carbonite appears black in ESB and ROTJ…DOH!

Nathan (after three months in workshop): “Ta da. What do you think?”
Wife: “Nice, but I thought carbonite was black? Anyway, are you coming to bed now? (walking off to bedroom)
Nathan: Sh*t!!

1 hour later

Wife (calling from bedroom): “Nathan!?”
Nathan: “You’d better start without me love”. (muttering, whilst painstakingly dismantling Han Solo) “Can’t believe I was so stupid. Must have been the dark side clouding my judgement…curse you Vader!”

Damned lot of time, money, and talent.

We are so glad some of you took time away from your own busy social lives to make stupid, lame comments about how the builder and fans have no life.

Well,
Out of 55 posts, there’s no mistaking that skill or art matters not to this crowd. But there’s PLENTY of Comedy Central material. (No, really, you could be on Comedy Central….. you would ge a lot of laughs….. you know who you are, don’t you?)

Other than that, cool project, cool hobby, cool skills!

I wouldn’t be too hard to make, the base is all the same really, the hard part would be the frozen Han Solo figure though. Cool though. I’d buy the Lego kit for the right price.

I’m not that impressed by this from the standpoint that it’s in such a constricted domain.

Furthermore, fan art is not art. Maybe some day these kinds of things will be treasured and sold at pretentious flea-market like affairs, along with the tron costume some asshat made out of long johns and rave glowstrings.

Then there’s the tenacity aspect of it. That’s great, but that tenacity is similar to that of the woman who made a whole wall full of little jars of scabs that she picked off of her arms. I mean, you go, guy.

That all said, I’d love to see the rest of the stuff this guy has done, because this does wow me on some level.

Glad I’m not him.

To those of you criticizing this individual’s effort at creating a truly viable peice of art, what have you done with your life? This man has created something that took alot of love and dedication to both the content and art form and he should be applauded. Rather than posting here about how it sucks, you infantile beings should look into becoming more productive members of society
