Missile Balloons for Your Car!

Found By: Michael Kiely (2080)

I'd love to get a few of these incredible Missile Balloons for my truck, but I have no idea where I can get them. Anyone?

Let us know in the Comments if you find a supplier.

UPDATE: The missile ballons were part of an outdoor ad which won the Grand Prix award at the Cannes Lions 2004 Award for Outdoor and Print. So I guess they aren't for sale just yet...hear that...yet.

I live in New Mexico, right next to Holloman AFB. I would love to get some of these and drive back and forth next to the base. BUT, I have a funny feeling that wouldn't be well recieved.
Holloman, and White Sands Missile Range is one of the biggest missile testing sites in the USA. Like I said, no sence of humor.

There is a Minnesota company that can make about anything you can imagine. I have consulted with them on a tradeshow booth. Very unique and this can be done with them by simply showing them the photo.
I know that driving down the public roadways would not be advised with these, but as a fun promotional tool

As a specialist inflatable manufacturer i can tell you that only can make those missiles if you make them twice as large as the pick up car because you need to fill them with helium to make them float in the air and so you need a minimum m³ otherwise the weight of the fabric is too heavy to fly - Sorry guys, gravity is still a fact but check out our website for things you can have made °-)

There's something very wrong with your statement: helium-filled Mylar balloons with FAR less volume are being made & sold - AND FLOATED IN THE AIR - every day. Granted, a cylindrical shape is far less efficient (surface area-to-volume ratio) than the typical oblate spheroid, but not THAT bad!

These balloons would be illegal in California. .... unless you tied a red flag to the end of each missile balloon. If the balloon(s) extends more than 15" from the bed of the truck, or from any portion of the vehicle, the red flag is mandatory. The flag would impair the flight of the balloon, therefor it would not fly straight. One would end up dragging the "missiles" on the pavement.
Perhaps someone should market heavy duty torpedo balloons for California practical jokers. Somehow, the bubble is starting to burst. LOL
